Mengenal Command Prompt atau CMD di Windows

Apakah masih ada yang mengenal sistem operasi DOS (Disk Operating System)? Bagi pengguna komputer di era tahun 80-an pasti mengenal DOS, sistem operasi buatan Microsoft yang terkenal pada jaman itu. Tampilan DOS sangat sederhana, merupakan basis teks dan pengguna hanya mengandalkan keyboard untuk menuliskan perintah. Walaupun demikian Microsoft masih menyisipkan fitur DOS di Windows hingga saat ini.

Command prompt atau disingkat CMD dapat kamu buka dengan menekan tombol berlogo Windows + R dan ketikkan CMD. Maka ditampilkan kotak dengan latar belakang hitam seperti gambar dibawah.

Perintah apa saja yang dapat dilakukan di command prompt? hampir semua perintah Windows Explorer dapat dilakukan, namun tidak mengandalkan klik mouse. Kamu harus mengetik untuk memulainya.

CMD tidak mengenal case-sensitive yang mana kamu bebas menggunakan huruf besar ataupun huruf kecil dalam menuliskan baris perintah. Berikut perintah dasar command prompt.

Yuk kita mulai dari perintah yang umum digunakan.

CD

Singkatan dari Current Directory, perintah CD menampilkan nama direktori yang sedang dibuka atau membuka direktori lainnya. Ketikkan CD dan lihat hasilnya.

Untuk melihat direktori ditingkat lebih tinggi, ketikkan CD.. . Atau untuk mengarahkan pada direktori tertentu yang masih dalam satu ranting, ketikkan CD [nama_direktori]

DIR

Singkatan dari directory, perintah DIR menampilkan isi sebuah direktori baik file maupun direktori didalamnya. Tidak berhenti sampai disini, ketikkan DIR /?, maka kita akan menemukan berbagai perintah turunan lainnya. T
